Congress Information

Internoise 2012 and the 2012 ASME Noise Conrol and Acoustics Division (NCAD) meetings will be held jointly, with combined sessions held throughout the conference at the same venue - the Marriott Marquis conference center. This is a great opportunity to learn about the latest developments in noise, vibration, and mitigation methods from two of the world's leading professional societies in these areas.

Registration

You may register for the joint INTERNOISE 2012 Congress and ASME NCAD Meeting on our registration website when it becomes available in Spring 2012. The registration fee includes both conferences.

Our refund policies for the InterNoise 2012 Congress and ASME NCAD are shown below.

Registrations:
If you submit a paper for publication, no refund will be given.

If you plan to attend the Congress without presenting a paper, no refunds will be given after 1 July 2012. Prior to 1 July, all refunds will be subject to a 20% handling fee.

Social Programs:
No refunds for Accompanying Persons, or the Congress Banquet, will be given after 1 July 2012. Prior to 1 July, all refunds will be subject to a 20% handling fee.

Short Courses:
No refunds will be given after 1 July 2012. Prior to 1 July, refunds will be subject to a 20% handling fee. If course is cancelled because of number of participants, the full amount will be refunded.

* Students may be asked to present valid student ID when picking up registration materials at the congress.

Registration fees of participants, students, and retirees/emeritus members include:

  • Access to the technical and poster sessions, exposition, and daily coffee service;
  • Opening and Closing Ceremonies and associated receptions Sunday and Wednesday evenings;
  • Exposition and Exhibitors’ Reception (Monday evening);
  • Printed booklet containing Abstracts and Exhibitor Directory;
  • INTER-NOISE and ASME NCAD Proceedings DVD.

Registration fees of accompanying persons includes:

  • Complementary light breakfast and New York City Bus Tour (Monday morning);
  • Opening and Closing Ceremonies and associated receptions Sunday and Wednesday evenings;
  • Exposition and Exhibitors’ Reception (Monday evening);

The registration form is completed online and submitted directly to the Congress Secretariat. An e-mail acknowledging receipt of the registration will be automatically generated and sent to the e-mail address provided on the registration. Payment of the registration fee will be available online using credit card payment, or can be paid by bank transfer. If using bank transfer a copy of the bank transfer form should be mailed, faxed, or e-mailed to the Congress Secretariat. Contact the Congress Secretariat for further instructions.

Venue

The congress venue is the Marriott Marquis, a five star property in the heart of Times Square in Manhattan. A large block of rooms has been negotiated at highly competitive rates ($324, which includes all taxes) and feature complimentary internet access. The Marriott is close to all major downtown attractions, including the Theatre District, Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, the Empire State Building, and many others. Several subway stations are within a few blocks of the hotel, and attractions like Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural History, are a short subway ride away. There are countless dining options for both lunch and dinner, including low-cost alternatives, as well as ample shopping and entertainment.

The Marriott is easily reachable from the three major area airports via taxi or shuttle bus. We are negotiating discounted shuttle transportation rates now, and will post links to a special website for Internoise 2012 attendees in Spring 2012.

Language

The official language of the conference is English.

Official Invitation

A generalized invitation letter will be available here shortly. A personalized letter can be obtained upon request. The Organizing Committee will be happy to send a personal invitation for participation in the Conference. It must be understood that such an invitation is only to help visitors obtain funds for travel and accommodation or a visa and is not a commitment on the part of the Organizers to provide any financial support.
